Cleaning Service Terms & Conditions
The following Terms and Conditions shall govern the relationship between Your Local Cleaner® and its Client(s).
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY
They represent a contract made between Your Local Cleaner® and the Client.
By ordering our domestic and office cleaning services via telephone, e-mail or website the client is agreeing to be bound by our Terms and Conditions of Service. Your Local Cleaner® agrees to arrange a free no-obligation personal cleaning consultation prior to your first cleaning visit in your own home at time that suits you and to provide professionally trained and fully insured cleaner to perform to a high standard the work specified in accordance to your individual needs and requirements.
Your Local Cleaner® provides regular and one-off domestic and office cleaning services and acts as an introductionary Agency between the Client and the Cleaner.
The Company will act on behalf of the Client in the relationship between the Client and the introduced Cleaner in order to ensure provision of professional, secure and high quality services. Our typical domestic service cost based on 2 hours per week is £12 per hour per cleaner for minimum of 2 hours per cleaning visit.
This is made up of £8 per hour which is paid directly to the cleaner after each visit and a typical £4 per hour management fee paid to Your Local Cleaner® via standing order on a monthly basis.
You Local Cleaner™ will make every effort to select a suitable fully trained and insured Cleaner prior to your first cleaning appointment, by closely vetting the Cleaners.
We interview and obtain references for every cleaner representing Your Local Cleaner®.
The Cleaners must provide us with a copy of their passport or driver`s license as well as a proof of permanent address and a signed contract.
While we take great care in selecting the right Cleaner, the Client shall be solely responsible for satisfying themselves as to the suitability of the cleaner.
Your Local Cleaner® endeavors to ensure that a high standard of work, integrity and reliability is always maintained by the Cleaner. If the cleaner leaves or the client is not happy with the standard of service provided, Your Local Cleaner® will endeavor to find a replacement cleaner as soon as possible, normally within 3 working days. Your Local Cleaner® will make every effort to provide temporary Cleaner in the event of sickness or holiday. Please note that the Client is not allowed to hire or offer work to any previous
or present staff of Your Local Cleaner® without the consent of Your Local Cleaner® otherwise a legal action will be taken.
The Client must allow the Cleaner access to hot water and power.
All fragile and breakable items must be secured or removed.
The Client agrees to provide all cleaning materials and equipment needed for the required work, unless other arrangements have been made with Your Local Cleaner®.
All cleaning equipment should be safe and in full working order.
The Client should take note of Your Local Cleaner® advice regarding the position to be filled.
Your Local Cleaner® may advise the Client that the hours they expect a Cleaner to work maybe excessive or that the area or item to be cleaned requires more hours.
REGULAR DOMESTIC CLEANING SERVICES:
The Client agrees to provide all necessary cleaning detergents and equipment for the required work, unless other arrangements have been made with Your Local Cleaner®.
All cleaning equipment should be safe and in full working order.
Should the introduced Cleaner refuse without cause to comply with the reasonable terms of the Client, fall ill, go on holiday or leave for any reason whatsoever, Your Local Cleaner® will supply a replacement Cleaner at the earliest opportunity, if Your Local Cleaner® is unable to supple a suitable replacement the management fee for the missed cleans will be refunded.
The standard regular domestic cleaning does not include wall cleaning, ceiling cleaning, laundry, working at heights and any outdoor work.
However if the Client insists on cleaning of walls and ceilings then Your Local Cleaner® cannot be held responsible for any unsuccessful results or any damage caused to the paintwork.
Also if laundry service has been especially requested please note that Your Local Cleaner® does not take any responsibility for damaging Client’s clothing.
Your Local Cleaner® will not be responsible for triggering any alarm systems.
The Clients should give specific instructions for deactivation/activation of any household alarm systems.
The Client agrees to provide a task list and all necessary cleaning detergents and equipment for the required work, unless other arrangements have been made with Your Local Cleaner®.
The standard One-off cleaning does not include cleaning of walls, ceilings, curtains, balconies, patios, exterior windows, carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, cleaning cutlery and laundry.
However if the Client insists on cleaning of walls and ceilings Your Local Cleaner® cannot be held responsible for any unsuccessful results or any damage caused to the paint work.
Also if laundry service has been especially requested Your Local Cleaner® does not take any responsibility for damaging client’s clothing.
Weekly Cleaning/Fortnightly Cleaning is charged at £8 per hour which must be paid directly to the cleaner at the end of each visit in cash. The management fee will be £4 per hour and taken on a monthly basis via standing order which will be set up on your initial free consultation once your requirements have been assessed.
One Off Cleans are charged at £8 per hour which must be paid directly to the cleaner at the end of each visit in cash. There will be a booking fee of £30 which must be paid to Your Local Cleaner® at the time of booking either by card or via bank transfer.
Should the payment need increasing for reasons outside of the companies control such as national wage increase or other business demands all clients will be notified by way of recorded letter at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
All prices are subject to change with prior notice. We will endeavour to make you aware by recorded letter at least 30 days before the price increase take effect.
Our insurance policy will cover any accidental damages (worth over £250) caused by our operatives while working on behalf of Your Local Cleaner®, if reported within 24 hours after the service has been performed.
There is an excess of £250 on any claim of which £100 are paid by the client and £150 paid by Your Local Cleaner®. In case of damage/breakage worth less than £250 Your Local Cleaner® takes full responsibility to repair or replace the damaged item.
Please note that Your Local Cleaner® has to be notified within 24 hours and no claims can be made against the Company after the 24 hour time limit.
Your Local Cleaner® will not be responsible for any accidental damages worth £50.00 or less.
The Client agrees and is in full awareness that in case of damage/breakage caused by representatives of Your Local Cleaner® has to be reported immediately or no later than 24 hours after the service has been performed.
The Client agrees to provide Your Local Cleaner® with all required information regarding damages caused by our operatives.
Items excluded from liability are: cash, jewelry, items of sentimental value, art and antiques.
COMPLAINTS AND CLAIMS
If the Client is not completely happy with the outcome of the work then Your Local Cleaner® operatives must be allowed to come back and re-do the job free of charge, otherwise no refund can be claimed due to the nature of the service.
Your Local Cleaner® advises that the Client or a client's representative must be at the premises at the time of completion of the job so an inspection can be done and any correction is made on site on the same day. If the Client or his/hers representative confirms that they are happy with the job done, this is considered as successful and completed job and no further claims can be made. If the Client has scheduled an inventory check then it must be arranged to commence no later than 24 hours after the cleaning job has been done. All fragile and highly breakable items must be secured or removed.
Key replacement/locksmith fees are paid only if keys are lost/broken or damaged by our operatives.
Your Local Cleaner® reserves the right not to be responsible for:
The client is responsible for securing – cash, jewellery and any other items of value. A zero tolerance policy in terms of theft and dishonesty is in place. No responsibility or liability is however accepted for any of the above.
Delay for a cleaning visit due to traffic congestion or broken down equipment
Cleaning job not complete due to the lack of suitable cleaning materials and/or equipment provided by the Client (e.g. vacuum cleaner, mop, sponge, clothes, cleaning liquids etc.)
Lack of hot water or electricity
For work not completed, or not completed to a good standard if the client, other people or trades men are working or present at the property when our cleaners are carrying out the job.
Where discolouring of fabric becoming more visible once dirt has been removed
Failing to remove old/permanent stains (due to their nature) using standard carpet cleaning methods
Damage to windows or articles of glass, china, porcelain, earthenware, stone or other articles of a brittle nature
Existing damage or spillage that cannot be cleaned/removed completely using provided by the Client cleaning materials and equipment
Any damages cost by faulty equipment and cleaning materials provided by the client.
Accidental damages caused by a faulty or not in full working order materials/equipment provided by the Client
Accidental damages worth £50.00 or less
Any accidental damages caused by our cleaners if the Client has an outstanding balance owed to Your Local Cleaner®
Any accidental damages/breakages or poor service caused by our cleaners if the Client decides to contact our operatives directly instead of Your Local Cleaner® with regards to these issues.
The Client may terminate the whole service by giving at least 30 days advanced notice in writing and specifying the last cleaning date.
The Client agrees to pay the management fee should a clean not be carried out due to the client canceling the clean.
The Client agrees to pay the full price of the cleaning visit in the following events:
Our cleaners are turned away, no one home to let them in, problem with client's keys or no water or electricity available at Client's premises.
If keys are provided they must open the lock without any special efforts or skills.
The Client may cancel the scheduled cleaning job at least 24 hours prior to the agreed start time.
The Client agrees to pay £30 cancellation fee per cleaner if he/she cancels or changes the date/time less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment.
AFTER CANCELLATION OF THE CLEANING SERVICE
By entering into a service agreement with Your Local Cleaner®, the Client agrees that after the termination of the cleaning service he/she will not hire or use any home-related services provided by a present or past cleaner introduced to the Client by Your Local Cleaner® for a minimum of 18 months.
If the Client does wish to hire or use home-related services provided by such a cleaner then he/she must pay a referral fee of £1,000.
Your Local Cleaner® reserves the right to make any changes to any part of these Terms and Conditions without giving any prior notice.
Please check this website for updates. By ordering Your Local Cleaner®’ service by telephone, e-mail or Your Local Cleaner®’ website the Client agrees to be bound by Your Local Cleaner®’ terms and conditions.
The relevant United Kingdom law shall govern these terms and conditions, and by agreeing to be bound by them the client agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts of the United Kingdom. Your Local Cleaner® has the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
